Death by Snoring

Death by snoring seems like a joke, doesn't it?  After all, how is it possible that someone could snore himself (or herself) to death? You might be surprised -- and what you don't know could possibly kill you.  Let's take a look at how snoring can effect your body, and one simple solution to the problem.

Are You Snoring Yourself to Death?

Do you wake up in the morning tired, even if you've gotten 7 or 8 hours of sleep?  Do you drag yourself out of bed and just don't seem to have any energy?  It might be because you're breaking your sleep cycle due to snoring!  Specifically, sleep apnea could be the culprit.

Problems that can cause, or can be side effects of, sleep apnea include:

  • High blood pressure
  • Frequent, unexplained headaches
  • Heart palpitations

It's Not Just You

Aside from snoring being damaging to your health, consider the health of your household.  If your snoring is anything above a barely-noticeable sound, you might be keeping others up.  And that can be damaging to their health as well.  After all, without adequate rest, they'll also be tired, grouchy and not alert enough.

(And isn't that reason enough for you to stop snoring?  You certainly don't want a grouchy household!)

Signs That You May Be Snoring Yourself to Death

Consider the following as signs of a problem with snoring:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Excessive daytime drowsiness
  • High blood pressure
  • Weight gain

If any or all of these signs sound familiar to you, it's time to do something!  There's a difference between an occasional nighttime where you snore softly, and a nightly cacophony.  If you routinely suffer from the above symptoms, your health is suffering.

Get Checked Out

Now all these signs could be due to something other than snoring, so it's always wise to get checked out by a doctor.  But in the meanwhile, there's something else you may want to consider.  An anti-snoring chin strap.

In fact, a study by the Eastern Virginia Medical School's division of sleep medicine found that using a simple chin strap has proved to be a very effective treatment.   Why?

The chin strap prevents obstructions from blocking the airway by repositioning the jar and tongue.  These chin straps have proven to relieve snoring and sleep apnea to feel better and grow healthier.  (If you'd like to check one out, look at the My Snoring Solution chin strap.)

You don't have to keep your household awake at night, and you can feel better during the day.  Not to mention that even a simple chin strap can help you prevent "death by snoring".
